Law Offices of James Jean-Francoid, P.A.
Personal injury, also known as tort law, is designed to hold wrongdoers accountable for the harm they cause and to restore victims as much as possible to their condition prior to the injury event. In most cases, someone who had a legal duty to act with caution breached that duty and the person’s negligent act or omission harmed one or more innocent persons. Personal injury law does not intend to punish the wrongdoer but to compensate the victim by ordering the wrongdoer to pay compensation for various losses, such as medical bills, lost wages, and the victim’s pain and suffering. The duty of a personal injury lawyer is to seek the maximum amount of compensation the victim deserves given the facts of the case. When you retain the Law Offices of James Jean-Francois, P.A. for your personal injury, you can be confident in my ability to manage your case, and my determination to fight for the highest level of compensation possible.
Capable and Determined Management of Your Personal Injury Case
The major categories of personal injury cases I manage include:
Motor vehicle accidents
Motor vehicle accidents
Anyone who drives on public roads has a duty to operate the vehicle safely. But too often, human error, mechanical failures and poor road conditions cause car, truck, motorcycle and bicycle accidents. If a careless driver, a defective auto part or a poorly maintained road injures you, I am prepared to fight for full compensation.
Premises liability accidents
Premises liability accidents
Landlords have a duty to make their premises reasonably safe for visitors. If, while you are out shopping, you suffer a slip and fall or are injured by falling merchandise, you may have a right to compensation. If a pet owner allows a vicious dog the opportunity to bite, I will fight to see that you receive full compensation.
Medical malpractice
Medical malpractice
When you see a healthcare provider about a medical problem, you have a right to expect competent care. When a negligent doctor, surgeon, dentist, chiropractor or other provider harms you, I will hold them accountable for medical malpractice.
Construction accidents
Construction accidents
When accidents happen in the workplace, an injured worker usually has to rely on workers’ compensation as an exclusive remedy. However, in many construction accidents, the injured worker has grounds to sue a third party for negligence to recover full personal injury compensation. I evaluate the facts of your accident to see if a third-party lawsuit is appropriate in your case.
A serious personal injury can leave you out of work as your medical bills pile up. In the worst cases, you may suffer chronic pain and never fully recover. I understand how much your damage award matters to your future, so I am determined to obtain full, fair compensation through a settlement or jury verdict.
Why You Need an Injury Attorney to Handle Your Claim?
Many personal injury claims are covered by insurance, and insurance adjusters are initially very helpful toward claimants. This leads many victims to believe they can manage their own claim and reach a satisfactory settlement. Don’t make this mistake! Insurance companies want to reduce the cost of a payout and will use various tactics to wear you down and get you to settle for far less than your case is worth. Getting the full compensation you deserve requires a fighting attorney with experience and skill.
